Having a tough cutting edge type on a core box bit affect durability, sharpness, and performance. The use of Carbide-tipped bits are the most common used and offer excellent wear resistance and longevity, making them great for repeated use on tough materials like hardwood, MDF, or laminate. In my shop I often use the Amana Tool 45938, Amana Tool 45932, and Timberline 160-50, to name a few which are carbide tipped, for great durability and sharp cutting edge performance. I only use carbide-tipped bits which means less frequent sharpening and a cleaner cut, Your projects or customers jobs deserve the best outcome so using quality bits is the key to that great end.
