The cutting radius will depend on the size and shape of the groove or flute you want to produce. Getting the best radius depends on your project’s finished look using a smaller radius is ideal for delicate detail work or narrow grooves, while larger radius allow for a more wider more pronounced and deeper flutes and coves. in my shop I have a wide range of bits in this category . They typically goes from as small as 5/32" like my Amana Tool 45903) up to 5/8" the my Amana Tool 45944). Having a wide selection in cutting radius lets me match the bit to the scale/ size and detail of my woodworking project/job or sign-making project.
