I say no a router is primarily designed for shaping, edging, and hollowing out wood, not for drilling straight holes. It can create shallow holes or grooves, it is not suitable for drilling deep, precise holes like a drill or drill press. For best results, use the right tool for the job at hand because in my shop you will be let go for misuse of a tool because you can get hurt.
