Durability is important because marking tools are used constantly in my shop and it's tough environment for any tool. Durable tools just last longer, provide uninterrupted performance, and require less frequent replacement. The stainless steel blades, on my SST Pipe Center Punch works great making a sharp , clean mark for future drilling. Also in my shop I use the Blue Spruce Toolworks MKCM132SS Marking Knife to give a perfect line without a problem of reading it. These tools as every other tool in my shop are bought because of their quality , because customers don't want to hear excuses they want their job.
