The jaw opening or clamping capacity allows the maximum size of material you can hold , making it the most important option. For doing small-scale work, an 8-inch or 10-inch capacity (as with the Wilton 1800S-8 F-Clamp or 540A-10 C-Clamp) is ideal, but larger projects may require up to 6 feet of opening as in the Wilton WL9-21806.
