The shank type and size impact how well the tool works ,compatibility with your drill, and ease of use. The Quick-release hex shanks, like those found on the Amana Tool 55226 and Amana Tool 55229, give you fast bit changes and fit perfectly in modern drills, with no slippage and making it more work friendly and more efficient. Others such as on the Amana Tool 55142, are versatile for use with traditional drill chucks but I personally like the hex shank .and it works great in a shop of any kind.
