Router bits come in various shapes, each designed for specific tasks: straight bits are used for cutting grooves and dados, flush-trim bits for trimming edges, and round-over bits for smoothing and shaping edges. Specialty bits like dovetail, rabbeting, and chamfer bits create joints or decorative profiles. Choosing the right router bit depends on the type of cut or finish you need and the material of you are working on . Remember Never use the wrong bit for the material your working on because in my shop that will get you a one way ticket out the door.
