The spindle speed needed for routing depends on the material and the diameter of the router bit. Generally, harder materials and smaller bits require higher spindle speeds, while softer materials and larger bits need lower speeds. Always consult the manufacturer's recommendations for optimal results and to avoid damaging the tool or workpiece. In my shop we don't "Force" a tool or bit because it will break and that will cost time and money to get a replacement. That being said I stock a few of each for uninterrupted jobs .
