The three types of cut-off saws are abrasive cut-off saws, cold cut-off saws, and miter cut-off saws. Abrasive cut-off saws use a grinding wheel to cut through metal, cold cut-off saws use a toothed blade for cleaner cuts, and miter cut-off saws are designed to make angled cuts, often in wood or metal. In my shop I require a quality line of blades and bit for the very best finish to a job and use the Amana Tools brand for uninterrupted jobs because my customers don't want to hear that I needed a new blade and their job will be delayed.
