A ripping blade is designed for cutting along the grain of wood and typically has fewer, larger teeth to remove material quickly and efficiently. A cross cut blade, on the other hand, is made for cutting across the grain and has more, smaller teeth to produce a smoother finish and reduce splintering. Using the correct blade is a must in my shop because incorrect blades and bits will make a job go bad very quickly . I use the Amana tools brand of Bits and Blades for uninterrupted service and great finishes.
