A mortising router bit is specifically designed for making clean, flat-bottomed mortises, often featuring a shorter cutting edge and a thicker body for stability in deeper cuts. In contrast, a straight router bit is more general-purpose, used for cutting straight grooves, dados, and rabbets, and typically has a longer cutting edge for a variety of routing tasks. The right bit for the job is what my shop runs on and quality bits are your shops best friend for uninterrupted service which make customer happy for the On-Time jobs.
