Acrylic is a transparent plastic material known for its strength and light weight. It is more shatter-resistant than glass and is often used for windows, signs, and displays. Additionally, acrylic is easy to shape when heated and resists UV light and weathering. I use acrylics in jig making in my shop and it works great and it lasts longer than wood.
