The part of a jointer that holds the knives is called the cutterhead. The cutterhead is a cylindrical component into which the knives (or blades) are secured, and it rotates to cut and smooth the wood surface. Sometimes called the "Drum" , the best is the Helical head jointer for quick clean wood removal.
