When buying a jointer, consider the width of the cutter head, as it determines the maximum board size you can flatten, and the length of the infeed and outfeed tables for better stability and accuracy. Also, check the motor power, fence quality, and whether you prefer a helical or straight knife cutter head for maintenance and finish quality. I only have Helical head in my jointers for the best outcome and the perfect finish. Buy quality even if you have to save a little longer , don't be fooled by hype.
