Ferrous cutting refers to machining materials that contain iron, such as steel and cast iron, which are generally harder and may produce more wear on cutting tools. Non-ferrous cutting involves materials without significant iron content, like aluminum, copper, and brass, which are usually softer and require different cutting speeds and tool materials. The main difference lies in the material composition and the machining techniques used due to their physical properties.
