The best sander for drywall is usually a pole sander or a drywall-specific orbital sander. Pole sanders are great for reaching high or large areas, while orbital sanders with fine-grit sandpaper provide a smooth finish and reduce the risk of gouging the drywall surface. I have the Festool 575994 Drywall sander and it gives me perfect surface finish and with less work doing it.
