Common problems with planers include dull or chipped blades, which can cause rough or uneven cuts, and feeding issues where wood gets stuck or does not move smoothly. Additionally, snipe—deeper cuts at the ends of boards—can occur if the infeed and outfeed tables are not properly aligned. In my shop I have the Jet 722130 JWP 13 inch planer and I use a long board that stays on the planer and the board to be planed runs over it and stops snipes on my work piece because of the flat even surface it makes to end of cut.
