A thin kerf blade typically has a thickness of about 3/32 inch (approximately 2.4 mm). This is thinner than standard saw blades, which are usually around 1/8 inch (about 3.2 mm) thick. Thin kerf blades remove less material, resulting in less waste and requiring less power from the saw. In my shop we use kerf blades often to minimize waste of expensive wood types and we depend on a quality blade that cuts clean without burning . My shop buys the avaiable blades at Amana tools .
