A thin kerf saw blade is best used when you want to minimize material waste and require less power from your saw, making it ideal for cutting thinner or softer materials. It's especially useful for portable or lower-powered saws, as it reduces strain on the motor. However, it may not be suitable for heavy-duty or high-precision work where blade stability is critical. I have used kerf blades for the above mentioned and also for a precision cuts of very small diameter as in a hidden joint.
