A thin kerf saw blade removes less material with each cut, resulting in less waste, finer and smoother cuts, and reduced sawdust. It also requires less power from the saw, making it especially suitable for lower-powered saws or when working with thinner materials. Kerf blades are also used when a thin slice has to be made with efficiency as in a hidden joint.
