A #10 xxxx is bigger than a #8 xxxx . The number refers to the xxxx 's gauge or diameter, so a higher number means a larger xxxx . Therefore, #10 screws are thicker than #8 screws. When using screws in your jobs never use a smaller xxxx than the job needs to have or you will suffer a possible break of it or it will be pulled through the item your attaching.
