The finish type—such as matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss—determines both the look and the protective qualities of your project. Selecting the right finish type is important because it influences the appearance (from subtle to striking), durability, and how well the surface resists stains and moisture. Variance in finish types allows you to match your aesthetic preference and functional needs; for example, a matte finish can hide imperfections, while a gloss finish is easy to clean and highlights wood grain. Products like the Oracal ORAMASK 813 Stencil Film offer a matte finish for crisp paint lines, while the General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Topcoat provides a natural satin look, and Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil gives a semi-gloss sheen for wood protection. A number of different finish type options are available so you can find the product that fits your needs. In my shop I use these product and the Oramask 813 works great on my CNC , it covers my job as the CNC cuts the design through it masking the parts for later painting .
