Cutting direction influences chip evacuation and edge finish. Up-cut cnc bits for plastic efficiently remove chips upward, ideal for most plastics to avoid melting. Down-cut bits push chips down, producing cleaner top edges but may trap chips in deep cuts. Compression bits combine both, providing clean cuts on both surfaces—excellent for double-sided laminates. The 51404-K and 51411-K are up-cut for great chip evacuation, while 46176-K is a compression bit, perfect for laminated materials. Multiple cutting directions are available to suit various project needs.
