A T-slot router bit is used to make T-track but first you use a Straight bit to hog out material and reach the depth of the slot then a T slot bit to finish the slot.. This specialized bit cuts a channel with a wider bottom, creating the "T" shape needed to securely hold bolts or accessories in place within the track.
