You don't absolutely need a HEPA filter in a vacuum, but it can be very beneficial, especially if you have allergies or asthma. HEPA filters trap tiny dust particles and allergens much more effectively than standard filters, helping to keep your home's air cleaner. For most people, a regular filter is sufficient, but a HEPA filter offers extra protection against airborne irritants.
