A 118-degree drill bit is better for general-purpose drilling in softer materials like wood and mild steel, as it has a sharper point that cuts quickly. A 135-degree drill bit is better for harder materials like stainless steel, as its flatter tip reduces walking and provides greater durability. The best choice depends on the material you are drilling but Quality bits are the only way to go. If you go cheap you will pay for it twice over and work harder to get that cheap broken bit out of the hole you were drilling.
