The Minwax 33255 Clear Helmsman Spar Urethane Spray, 11.5-Ounce, Satin states that the product is: "Ideal for use on interior or exterior wood surfaces to include doors, windows, trim, bathroom cabinets, bar tops, kitchen countertops, and outdoor furniture."
It is not recommended for use on fences, so it would be suitable for your outdoor ranch road signs, but not to be used on or as fences.
