To insert router bits, first unplug the router for safety. Loosen the collet with a wrench, insert the shank of the bit into the collet, and then tighten it securely. Make sure the bit is seated properly and not bottomed out before use. when you change to another bit always tap the collet and locking nut on a hard surface to clean out any sawdust trapped in the threads and collet.
