To line up a router bit, insert it into the router’s collet and tighten it securely, making sure the bit is centered and straight. Adjust the height of the bit according to your desired cutting depth, some bits have a mark on the shaft for the proper depth in the collet. . Always double-check it before turning on the router for safe and accurate operation. When changing to a new bit always remove the collet and locking nut and gently tap them them on a hard surface to clean out any saw dust from them so re-installation will be smooth with no obstruction.
