When choosing a router , look for a powerful motor, adjustable speed settings, and comfortable handling for precision and control. Also, consider features like easy bit changes, good dust collection, and compatibility with various router bits to suit your woodworking needs. There are two kinds of basic router designs , the Fixed Base which does not plunge up and down and is set at one depth, then there is the Plunge Router which does move up and down by pushing a lever . The Plunge Router has a setting for the maximum depth you need for your project.
