A spoilboard is a sacrificial surface used on CNC routers or woodworking machines to protect the machine bed during cutting operations. It supports the workpiece and absorbs cuts that go through the material, preventing damage to the machine and ensuring clean cuts.
It is important when installing a new spoilboard you must run a Flattening bit over it to insure the surface is completely flat . If you don't your projest will be cut unevenly and possibly snap your bit.
