A Jointer Planer is a woodworking machine used to create a flat surface along the length of a board, ensuring one face is smooth and even. A Planer (also called a thickness planer) is used to trim boards to a consistent thickness and make the two faces parallel. While a Jointer /Planer flattens one face, a Planer ensures both faces are even and of uniform thickness.
