A belt sander is used for quickly removing material and smoothing large, flat surfaces. An orbital sander is ideal for fine finishing and sanding in tight spaces without leaving swirl marks. A detail sander is used for sanding small, intricate areas and corners that are hard to reach with larger sanders.
