For cutting metal, a higher TPI (teeth per inch) blade generally provides a smoother cut. Between 18 and 24 TPI, 24 TPI is better for thin metal, as it prevents snagging and gives a cleaner finish. However, 18 TPI is more suitable for cutting thicker metal pieces. The blade won't chatter or heat up using the correct TPI and last longer.
