A spoilboard is a sacrificial layer of material placed on the bed of a CNC router or other cutting machine. Its purpose is to protect the machine’s main bed from damage during cutting operations and to provide a flat, even surface for securing workpieces. The Spoilboard is typically replaced when it becomes too worn or damaged.
The Spoilboard is kept flat by using a Spoilboard Surfacing Bit.
