To plane with a router bit, secure your workpiece and use a straight or flattening router bit in a router, ideally mounted on a router sled for even passes. Move the router steadily back and forth across the surface, removing thin layers with each pass until the desired flatness is achieved. Always work slowly and check your progress frequently to avoid removing too much material.
