There are several types of countersink bits, including single-flute, multi-flute, and cross-hole (also called zero-flute) countersink bits. Single-flute bits are ideal for soft materials, multi-flute bits provide a smoother finish in harder materials, and cross-hole bits are commonly used for deburring. Each type is designed to create a conical hole for xxxx heads to sit flush with or below the material's surface.
