Dear Svott,
I just got this from Stepcraft regarding your question:
They'll need more than just a CAD software. The control software, UCCNC, runs G-Code files not just simple .dxf, etc imports. When using a CNC, they'll need a CAM software as well to indicate tool paths, feed and speeds and information pertaining to the tool. I would suggest they look into a CAD/CAM software such as Vectric or Fusion360.
Thanks,
Kevin
