The angle measurement of 17° degrees is just for the angled portion of the cutter.

For the SC404 raised panel cutter, is the relief angle (a) 17 degrees for the entire length of the carbide cutter. It looks like the flat portion of the carbide cutter is a different angle. Thank You.
