PDF feeds & speeds too low? 3/8" 3‑flute/2‑flute MDF & plywood recommendations conflict with real-world results
CNC Solid Carbide Compression Spiral Bits - 3 Flute
The feeds and speeds chart PDF currently posted seems off. Speeds and chiploads seem too low. Is there an error in the chart? Speeds are much lower than other manufacturers recommend with similar size bits and numbers of flutes.
For example, I have accidentally run one of these 3 flute, 3/8 bits in MDF before at 400ipm and it caused burning. Now 400 is the recommended speed. And in Plywood, 3/4, it's totally normal to run a two flute 3/8 bit at 600-650ipm or even faster for full depth passes, but your chart recommends less than half of that rate.
Am I missing something here? Is there a mistake?
