Amana bit profile in VCarve sim shows incomplete cuts; finished MDF parts 1/8" undersized.
Amana Tool 46577-K CNC Spektra Extreme Tool Life Coated Spiral 2D/3D Carving 0.10 Deg Straight Angle Flat Bottom x 1/4 D x 1-1/2 CH x 1/4 SHK x 3 Inch Long x 2 Flute SC Up-Cut Router Bit
Hi, I just received this bit and I applied the Amana tool profile for it to my vCarve Pro tool database. When I try to setup a simple profile tool path in vCarve to cut out on 1/2" MDF, the simulation will not show a complete cut through on the material and only looks like it is going to cut a couple small holes along the tool path. I went ahead and tried to cut out a test piece on MDF and it cut out the full profile including to the depth I was expecting, but the piece was a 1/8" smaller on all sides than what was designed in vCarve. For example, instead of the cutout piece being 32" long, it ended up being 31 3/4" long. I'm confused how I can use this bit to accurately cutout designs from vCarve. When I tried this with a "normal" endmill I already had, I have no issues with the same cutout. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello. Thank you for your question. Based on your problem, it sounds like you may need to make sure that your dimensions of the part and tool path are being input correctly. Sometimes having the wrong diameter placed would leave these problems when it comes to cutting values. If you are still having issues, reach out to us at ttsupport@toolstoday.com and ask to speak to ur CNC engineer Matt and he can work with you directly on diagnosing the issue.
