Can I get sharper corners with 1/2" shank 2-step MDF bits or retrofit step‑3 blades from 3/4" bits?
Replacement Solid Carbide Insert Knives for Simulated Raised Panel and Door Edge MDF and Wood Cabinet Door Making Router Bits
I was looking at the 4 step MDF bits to start off (RC 2454, RC 2450, RC 2452, and RC 4070). I realized right before I ordered that they were 3/4" shanks and seemed to be for ATCs. I run a CAMaster X3 with the main spindle being able to accommodate 3/4" but 2 side spindles going up to 1/2". Ideally I would like to run 3 steps in one setup up utilizing all of my routers. I found 1/2" shank bits on your page and picked the design using tool RC 2490 and RC 2486. The only issue is that there isn't a "step 3" involved with these 2 bits like is involved in the ones with 3/4" shanks. The step 3 appears to 'sharpen' up the corners so my question is; with the new bits I have selected is there a way to achieve a sharper corner? I searched the web and have been unable to find anything; and I'm sure someone at your company knows much more about these bits than I. Another thought I had was is the blades from the step 3 (RC 2454) able to be changed over to a 1/2" shank? I doubt this but I don't know.

Unfortunately the CNC Multi Profile Carbide Insert Router Bit for MDF Cabinet Doors-Step 3 will not work with RC-2490 or RC-2486 because it is not the same type of profile.
Please note that Step 3 is also available with a 1/2" as Amana Tool number RC-2453.
